I met Gayle in September 2016 at Pilates studio of Dunwoody. Gayle would be my Pilates client. Gayle’s goal, amongst other wellness issues she was working through, was improving posture and reducing low back pain.
After our first session, my mental note read: based on Gayle’s posture, exercise execution, lack of body awareness and engagement, there is much work to be done. However, Gayle is open to feedback and demonstrates willingness to work hard.

Yes, a fun exercise for the arms and upper body but also a fantastic way to challenge the core as it has to be engaged in order to control the movement and the tension in the springs. Few reps work the muscles deep for effective results. Exercises loved by men and women alike. ⠀

Do not be fooled. Pilates requires muscles to work deep. With consistent work and as a person starts advancing, the flow of the exercises challenges the cardiovascular system as well.
So yes, Pilates will make you sweat.
